I will highlight the meaning of an MFT professional identity, common barriers to professional identity, and the importance of early networking and connection within our field. I will also address the importance of ongoing supervision and factors to consider when choosing a supervisor.

About the event
Dr. Tia Crooms is an LMFT based in NC and holds additional MFT licenses in South Carolina and Hawaii. Dr. Crooms is an Assistant Professor at National University in the MFT program where she teaches foundational & core courses, faculty mentoring, serves as a subject matter expert for doctoral committees, and runs a clinical supervision group. Dr. Crooms is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and AAMFT supervisor course instructor. She is a private practice owner of Systemic Supervision Training Center, PLLC, which primarily focuses on systemic supervision and supervisor mentoring. Dr. Crooms has experience as a workshop presenter on the topics of professional identity and ethics in marriage and family therapy. Dr. Crooms is a published author and continues to expand her research on supervision and MFT clinical training. She is also involved in AAMFT leadership and serves as a member of the Leadership Development & Recruitment committee.
